An e-learning module for a scaling IoT company that turns OKRs from an abstract mandate into immediately actionable practice — built for leaders who have no patience for passive training.

The challenge

As the IoT company scaled, strategic alignment and accountability started slipping through the cracks. Leadership set ambitious direction, but a widening gap opened between high-level strategic intent and the measurable, day-to-day execution that actually moves a business.

The audience made it harder: efficient and exacting corporate leaders — highly competent, deeply time-constrained, and quick to dismiss passive training as wasted time. Anything built for them had to be immediately actionable.

My approach

Partnering with a Data Analytics Director as subject-matter expert, I coached the SME away from passive lecture and toward problem-based, adult-learning design — so every screen answered the leader’s real question: “What’s in it for me right now?”

  1. Grounded it in andragogy — I reframed the content around adult-learning principles, trading passive presentation for problem-based practice tied to each leader’s own goals.

  2. Built the OKR skill in layers — three modules move from bridging the execution gap, to crafting effective OKRs with drag-and-drop practice, to driving alignment through a cascade model.

  3. Assessed with real scenarios — a scenario-based summative assessment checks judgment in context instead of testing recall of definitions.

The outcome

PBL

Reframed from passive lecture into problem-based learning anchored in “what’s in it for me right now?”

3 + 1

Three build-up modules plus a scenario-based summative assessment.

OKRs

Reconnected day-to-day execution back to strategy through a clear cascade model.
